Believe me, I understand just how you feel.

I'm not saying these guys have all the answers, but I'm a member of this party, and I try to support what they're doing because they have a vision for building some real alternatives.

http://www.thelaborparty.org/

Notice their two big campaigns are Just Health Care and Free Higher Ed. That issue my student had with inheritance money wouldn't be an issue if enough people could rally around the Higher Education platform, and, right now, some people will argue that we have the best health care in the world, but you and I know that's only if you're rich. If you're poor, or just working for a living, it's hard to afford basic health care, much less any of the best of it. Hell, I know people who are pretty well off who have been wiped out by health care expenses.

A couple of groups affiliated with The Labor Party that I work with as well...

http://www.rockamole.com/

http://www.kwru.org/

I know it's hard to imagine these things can change the country, but I have to believe that, if enough people like this networked and got together, at least we could put the pressure on that's needed to really change things....at least one day. From my perspective, there's not really any other choices but brick by brick building, door to door, one person talking to another about what's feasible versus what is.

DannyDanny Alexanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10895177352804665940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21035353.post-1140322199567459282006-02-18T20:09:00.000-08:002006-02-18T20:09:00.000-08:00As I read through the horrifying numbers, I felt o...As I read through the horrifying numbers, I felt overwhelmed, and I remembered the quotation "One death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic." (Stalin?) I feel like I have access to all of the information but not one extra ounce of wisdom of what to do to change the world--I'm open to suggestions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
